Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage was brought to the west by Narendra Mehta in the 1970’s.  Indian Head Massage, also known as “Champissage”  or “Champi” is an alternative medicine massage therapy where  the head (scalp), neck, shoulders and face are massaged with the purpose of manipulating and balancing energy channels.  When energy does not flow properly, negative energy builds up, which can cause common ailments, including stress, aches & pains, baldness or hair loss.

The intention of Indian Head Massage (like Reiki) is to clear these energy blocks.  Starting with the neck and shoulders, working with a firm yet gentle calming rhythm, the techniques can help to relieve both muscular discomfort and tension as well as calming mind, the spirit and of course enabling the client to relax.  Indian Head Massage is said to enhance circulation in the head, improve the senses and promotes clearer thinking.

Indian Head Massage is practiced all over Europe and the treatment can really help to calm the mind and is surprisingly deeply relaxing.
